An open-world 3D crime game set in a living city of towers, neon signs, parks and docks, from golden hour to midnight. You run a crew of four, Rico the wheelman, Jax the gunner, Nova the ghost and Brick the bruiser, and switch between them at any time, each with a perk and a special ability. Walk the streets, steal any car you like and drive it with real handling: handbrake slides, crashes, smoking engines and explosions. Take nine story jobs from the city's fixers: grab a ride for the chop shop, run a courier route against the clock, wreck a rival's muscle car, rob the bank, win the midnight race, wipe out the Black Hand crew, hit an armoured van, outrun the whole force to the far dock and finally take down the Kingpin. Drive a taxi between jobs and fares find you on their own. Every crime raises your wanted level up to five stars, and police cars, officers on foot and armed units chase you until you break their line of sight and hide. Pick up cash, health, armour and ammunition, switch between fists, a pistol, an SMG and a shotgun, tune the radio, sell stolen cars for extra cash and keep an eye on the weather: rain slicks the roads and storms roll in. The map is a 9 by 9 block city. You have three lives; your score is the cash you take home.

How to play Outlaw City

Outlaw City is an open-world 3D crime game. You start with a pistol and a few dollars in a dense city of towers, parks and docks that runs from golden hour into night. Steal any car, take nine story jobs from the fixers, drive a taxi for fares, and earn cash from deliveries, races, shootouts and sold cars. Break the law and the wanted level climbs to five stars: police cruisers ram you, officers chase on foot and the heat only fades when you stay out of sight. You have three lives and your score is the cash you take home. You play a crew of four and can switch between them at any moment: each has a perk and a special ability on a cooldown.

WASD or arrow keys to walk and drive, Shift to sprint
F to get in or out of a car and to start a job at a yellow marker
Space to shoot on foot (hold the handbrake in a car), Q / E or 1-4 to change weapon, R to reload (radio in a car)
Z / X or click a portrait to switch character, G for their special ability
H to honk, C to change the camera, M for the full map, P or Esc to pause
Touch: left thumb moves and drives; ENTER, FIRE, RELOAD / HORN and GUN / RADIO buttons on the right
Gamepad: left stick, RT / LT, A for sprint or handbrake, Y to enter, X to reload

Tips for a higher score

Switch characters with Z or X. Rico slides cars and sprints, Jax slows time for perfect shots, Nova wipes your wanted level and Brick shrugs off damage.
Stand next to a car and press F to take it. Cars that are not parked are driven by people, who will not be pleased.
Handbrake slides (Space) turn a long car round a corner without braking. Release as you straighten up.
To lose the police, break their line of sight: turn down a side street, get out of the car and wait until the stars flash.
Stolen cars can be sold at the chop shop when you have no stars. A sports car pays much more than a taxi.
Cash, health and armour pickups on the pavements come back after a minute. Pick up the SMG and the shotgun in the parks before the Showdown and Kingpin jobs. Rain slicks the roads, so brake earlier in a storm.
