Choose a route: golden-hour coast, neon city, thunderstorm, desert noon, snowy Alpine pass, harbor at night, red canyon or misty redwoods. Then pick how to race: Checkpoint Rush against the clock, a point-to-point Sprint, Knockout where the last car is eliminated, a solo Time Trial, a head-to-head Drag Race with a rev-launch start, Drift Attack for slide points, or Hot Pursuit with police cruisers, spike strips and a busted meter. Weave through traffic for near misses, burn nitro and fight for position. Engines, tyres, sirens and weather are all synthesised live.
How to play Street Rush
Street Rush is a 3D street racer in the spirit of Need for Speed. Choose one of eleven cars, each with a real six-speed gearbox, a torque curve and tyres that spin when you launch too hard, then pick a route - coast, neon city, thunderstorm, desert, Alpine snow, harbor at night, red canyon or misty redwoods - and one of seven race modes: Checkpoint Rush, Sprint, Knockout, Time Trial, Drag Race, Drift Attack and Hot Pursuit. Weave through traffic for near-miss combos, slide through bends for drift points, burn nitro on the straights and fight for position. Engines, tyres, wind, rain, sirens and thunder are all synthesised live in your browser.
- Garage: Left / Right pick a car, Up / Down pick a paint colour, T changes the route, Space to go
- Up / W gas, Down / S brake, Left / Right (A / D) steer
- Shift or N for nitro, Space for the handbrake (drift)
- On the start line: hold gas and keep the revs in the green for a perfect launch
- C changes camera, P pauses
- Gamepad: stick to steer, RT gas, LT brake, A nitro, X handbrake, Y camera, Start pause (menus: D-pad, A, Y for the route)
- Two players: pick Split-screen in the garage (P1 W A S D, P2 arrows, or a gamepad each), or Online to race a friend with a room code
- Touch: on-screen arrows, GAS, BRAKE, NITRO and DRIFT
Tips for a higher score
- On the start line hold the gas and keep the rev meter inside the green window for a perfect launch. Hold it too long and the wheels just spin.
- Hold the nitro for straights and overtakes: near misses, drifting and sitting in a rival's slipstream all refill the tank.
- Brush past traffic without touching it to build a near-miss combo, up to x5. A crash resets it.
- Tap the handbrake while turning to slide the car. In Drift Attack, chained slides multiply your points up to x5.
- Knockout: stay out of last place at 2 km and 4 km or you are eliminated. Hot Pursuit: keep clear of the cruisers to drain the busted meter, steer round spike strips and ram a cruiser hard to wreck it.
- Heavy cars like the Bruiser 4x4 and Goliath X shrug off crashes, while the Apex RS is fast but fragile. Snow and rain cut the grip, so brake earlier and ease off the steering.
