How to play Carrom
Carrom is the classic tabletop flicking game. You are White and shoot from the bottom of the board; the computer is Black and shoots from the top. Slide the striker along your baseline, pull back and release to flick it into the coins, and pocket your nine white coins before the computer clears its black ones. Every own coin scores 10 points and lets you shoot again, and the red queen is worth 50 if you cover it with one of your own coins on the same shot or the next.
- Drag the bar under the board (or Left / Right, A / D) to place the striker
- Pull back anywhere on the board and release to flick - further pull = harder shot
- A dotted guide shows where the striker will hit
- Space / Enter: start or play again
Tips for a higher score
- Aim the striker at the far side of a coin so it travels towards a pocket; the dotted guide shows exactly where the striker touches it.
- Do not hit the striker too hard. A gentle shot is easier to control and the striker is less likely to drop into a pocket, which is a foul and costs 10 points.
- Take the queen when your own coins are close to a pocket, so you can cover it straight away with the same shot or the next one.
- Pocketing one of the computer's coins gives it the points and ends your turn, so try to avoid sending black coins into pockets.
- Slide the striker along the baseline before you shoot; a different starting point can give you a much cleaner angle on the coin you want.
- You get 24 shots, so a long run of own coins early is worth more than a single risky shot.
