Battle Royale Tips: 9 Ways to Survive Longer and Win More

By Game Utsav · · 5 min read

Every Battle Royale match tells the same story: players who drop in, grab weapons and sprint at the first enemy they see are usually out within a minute. The ones who win are rarely the best shots. They simply make better decisions. These nine tips will help you play like one of them in Battle Royale.

1. Pick your landing spot with a plan

Landing in the middle of the map gives the best loot but also the most fights. If you want to practise, land near the edge, loot quietly and move in once you are armed. If you are confident, a busy spot can end the match for half your rivals before the first circle even starts.

2. Loot fast, then leave

Standing in a building for a full minute is how you get surprised. Grab a weapon, some ammo and a heal, then move. A decent gun in hand beats a perfect loadout you never get to use.

3. Respect the shrinking zone

The safe zone is both a timer and a trap. Players who wait until the last second end up running through open ground with the storm at their back. Start moving early and take the route with the most cover, even if it is a little longer.

4. Use cover instead of standing still

Move between walls, rocks and buildings and never cross open ground in a straight line. Peek, shoot, then step back behind cover. Rivals who trade shots in the open lose health you cannot always get back.

  • Stop behind cover to reload, never in the open
  • Break line of sight before healing
  • Change your angle after every shot exchange

5. Learn to listen

Footsteps, gunfire and pain grunts all tell you where the danger is. Play with headphones when you can. A distant burst of fire means two rivals are busy with each other, which is a perfect time to move past or to pick off the survivor.

6. Choose your fights

You do not have to shoot everyone. If a rival has not seen you, you can usually skip the fight and keep your health. Take the shots that are clearly in your favour: an enemy who is reloading, healing or already damaged.

7. Aim a little ahead and keep calm

Moving targets need you to lead your shots. Short controlled bursts are more accurate than holding the trigger. If your aim feels shaky on a phone, lower your sensitivity until it feels steady.

8. Heal when it is safe, not when it is urgent

Healing takes time, and time is exactly what you do not have in a fight. Break contact first, then heal. If you can, do it behind a wall with the exits covered.

9. Play the end game patiently

In the last circle most players panic. Stay low, keep to cover and let others make the first move. Winning is usually about being the last person to take a risk, not the first.
