How to play Paintball Arena

Paintball Arena is a first-person tournament paintball game. You play on a floodlit field of inflatable bunkers against the opposing team, who dash between cover, duck out of sight, lean out to fire bursts and push forward as the rounds go on. Your paint is slower than a bullet and drops over distance, so you have to lead moving targets, and a hit on a head scores more than a hit on the body. Chain tags quickly for a combo multiplier, and throw paint grenades to flush out a bunker. Play Elimination rounds, the 90-second Blitz or one-hit Hardcore.

• WASD to move, mouse to aim, left-click to fire (hold for rapid fire), right-click to zoom
• C to duck, Shift to sprint, R to reload, G to throw a paint grenade
• Esc to pause and free the mouse
• Touch: left stick to move, drag the right side to aim, FIRE, DUCK, NADE, LOAD and ZOOM buttons

Tips for a higher score

• Duck (C) behind a low bunker to be completely hidden, then stand up to shoot. Opponents do exactly the same, so watch the tops of the low bunkers.
• Your marker is zeroed at about 25 metres. Beyond that the ball drops, so aim a little above the head of a far opponent.
• Stop moving to aim: the crosshair spreads when you sprint or hold the trigger, and tightens when you stand still or zoom in with right-click.
• Opponents pick the bunker on the side away from you, so move sideways to look round it and catch them while they are still crouched.
• Tags within four seconds of each other build a score multiplier up to x4. A paint grenade can start a combo by tagging several at once.
• Watch the radar and the red arcs on the screen edge: they show where you were hit from. Your health comes back slowly if you stay out of sight.
