How to play Dead Yard
Dead Yard is a first-person zombie survival shooter. You defend a night-time farmyard from endless waves of the undead using whatever you can find: a pistol at first, then a submachine gun, a shotgun and an assault rifle as the waves go on. Walkers shamble, runners sprint and brutes soak up damage, so use the farmhouse, barn, crates and drums for cover and keep moving.
- WASD to move, mouse to aim, left-click to fire, right-click to aim down the sights
- Shift to sprint, R to reload, 1-4 or mouse wheel to change weapon, F for the torch
- Esc to pause and free the mouse
- Touch: left thumb to move, drag the right side to look, FIRE, RELOAD and SWAP buttons
Tips for a higher score
- Head shots do more than double damage, so a steady aim beats spraying at the body.
- Keep moving and circle the yard; zombies bunch up behind you in a line that the shotgun cuts down.
- Let the horde string out before reloading, and always reload behind cover rather than in the open.
- Pick up the glowing ammo and medkit drops, especially from brutes, which drop something almost every time.
- Health slowly refills to the next 25-point step if nothing hits you for a few seconds.
